BLOGGING

HOSTGATOR

If you want readers and search engines to take your blog seriously, you need to self-host your website (not use a free service like wordpress.com…). And to do that, you’ll need a hosting from a company such as HostGator.

I use HostGator for my blog. They offer super-affordable hosting packages and great technical support. I’ve always been able to get help via chat when I’ve needed it with relatively short waits.

EVERNOTE

Evernote

Evernote is my external brain. It helps me remember all kinds of things. I store quotes, stats, to-do lists, contact information, receipts, and more in my Evernote files. And thanks to the software’s search and organization features, I can find any information I’ve stored in seconds. If you’ve never tried Evernote before, you’ve GOT to check it out. Click the link on this page to get a month of Evernote Premium FREE.

CONVERKIT

convertkit

The best bloggers focus on building an email list and connecting with readers. ConvertKit will help you do just that! With ConverKit, you can create email sign up forms, landing pages, and automated rules. Keep tabs on important stats too. I highly recommend this service.

BLOGGING YOUR PASSION 101

BYP 101

Launching a blog can feel overwhelming when you’re not sure what to do next. You need a need a plan. I’ve learned a ton from Jonathan Milligan. That’s why I’m confident his Blogging Your Passion 101 course will get your blogging journey started off on the right foot. Click the link above, and check it out!

PODCASTING

BLUEBIRD MICROPHONE

Blue’s Bluebird microphone doubles as a podcasting and webinar microphone. It picks up your voice extremely well. Listeners will feel like their having a personal conversation with you.

FOCUSRITE SCARLETT 2i2

The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 enables you to connect an XLR microphone (typically, more professional audio than a USB mic) to your computer. I use it regularly for podcasting, video conferencing, and screencasting. The 2i2 is a USB audio recording interface that’s small (about as long and wide as a paperback) and easy to use. It has 48v phantom power built in, so it can power many condenser microphones, including the Bluebird.

GARAGEBAND

garageband

Garageband is a powerful software that comes free with new Mac computers. It makes podcasting a snap.

BUZZSPROUT

 buzzsprout

I love using Buzzsprout for podcast hosting. The site is easy-to-use – but still effective and powerful.

With Buzzsprout, you can initially upload podcasts for FREE. Each episode you upload will be saved for 90 days. If you want to keep your episodes alive longer than 90 days, you can upgrade to plans that start at $12 per month (which is a very reasonable price).

If you click on the link I have on this page and sign up for a paid account, Buzzsprout will give you a $20 Amazon gift card.
